In the modern digital world, it’s impossible to navigate any webpage without encountering at least a few ads, and although many companies make an effort to tailor these to each person’s individual tastes and interests by carefully monitoring all their online activity, these can still sometimes be a slight distraction.
Building on ideas implemented by Google and Samsung with their new foldable phones, such as the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Apple is once again proving themselves at the top of the innovation chain by creating not just a new foldable phone, but also tackling the ad issue once and for all.
At a tech conference this past Wednesday, Apple revealed designs for their new iPhone Ajar 7, with 2 separate screens. The most outstanding feature of this new design? ALL the ads are placed on one of the screens, leaving you free to scroll to your heart’s content on the other screen. Apple conference speaker Jennifer Perry explained that no matter what website you are scrolling, ads would flash and play on the other screen, leaving you free to read without the distractions.
Of course, there are limitations to this technology. For example, in order to make sure both screens would still be as slender and comfortable as we’ve come to expect iPhones to be, Apple has removed the volume button from the screen playing the ads, meaning they cannot be silenced, Aside from this, certain websites, such as those beginning with “www.”, and apps with built-in ads such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, alongside those that can be downloaded through the Apple Store, will still have ads. A small price to pay for a more comfortable viewing experience, as noted by Mrs. Perry.
As has come to be expected with Apple’s technological innovation, they are not just releasing the iPhone Ajar 7, but also the iPhone Ajar Pro 7, with features such as more powerful speaker, and the iPhone Ajar Pro 7+, with one of the screens slightly bigger. And, to complement this, Jennifer revealed they are also releasing a foldable version of the classic iPad, called the iPad Agape 3.
